Himesh

Please help us reach out to many more relentless fighters like Himesh.

He is 19 years old and has been living on his own for the past three years in a small village named Mohari in the state of Maharashtra. Himesh's mother passed away when he was in the 10th standard. He doesn't remember the time spent with his father as he was too small when his father breathed last. His parents had come to Mohari as laborers in search of work. From the work they did, they could not buy land or build a home. Himesh is now a homeless orphan. His neighbour has provided him with a space to rest at night. On a regular day, Himesh wakes up at 5 AM every day to work for 2 hours as a daily wage laborer. Then, he takes a 9 AM train that takes around 2 hours to reach Mehkar, a small town where Himesh is doing his Diploma in electrical engineering. After college, he boards the train back to Mohari and joins his evening shift as a helper in a local restaurant, where he washes the plates and cleans the tables. He gets his dinner in the restaurant. He gets an hour or two for his studies between dinner and bed.

Himesh goes through this ordeal every day to earn around 3000 rupees every month. And, from this, he could save enough to pay his last year's college fees of 25,000 rupees.

He aspires to complete his education and work on building a support network for orphans across India so that no other orphan goes through the hardship he has been braving relentlessly
