University Success — supporting students to complete and thrive
Our University Success Program (formerly Scholar Care) supports undergraduate students aged 18–23 from rural, tribal and underserved communities with scholarships + holistic support (mentorship, internships, life skills, action projects and career readiness).

Why University Success
Launched in 2004, YDF’s University Success Program removes more than just financial barriers. We build confidence, agency and employability through mentorship, targeted support for girls in STEM, digital skills and partnerships with institutions to make higher education pathways more accessible and successful.
Today students face lack of guidance, limited self-advocacy skills, societal pressure and employability gaps — University Success equips learners with the resources and mentors to thrive in university and beyond.

How University Success works
In partnership with institutions and education departments, we combine best practices, digital tools and on-ground mentorship to help students complete their degrees and enter the workforce prepared.
Institution Partnerships
We integrate programs with partner colleges and state/district education systems to scale support and sustainability.
Well-being & Life Skills
Workshops that build resilience, communication, time management and the soft skills needed to persist and succeed.
STEM & Digital Readiness
Focused interventions to increase girls’ participation in STEM, digital literacy, and 21st-century skills.
Mentorship & Internships
Long-term mentoring and placement support including industry exposure, guidance and internship opportunities.
University Success goes beyond financial support — we equip students with skills, mentorship, and guidance to thrive in academics and careers.
