From a Small Village to Big Dreams
My name is Lovely, and I come from a small village in Dera Bassi, Punjab. Growing up in a family of five with an annual income of barely ₹2–3 lakhs, dreaming of pursuing an MBA felt almost impossible.
My father worked tirelessly to provide for us, but the financial burden was heavy. At one point, I had nearly given up on the idea of continuing my education.
Deep down, though, I knew education was the only way to change my family’s circumstances. With limited resources and little hope, I began preparing myself for a reality where my dream might never happen.
Although I was skeptical at first, I decided to take a chance. That decision turned my life around. YDF awarded me the PRIF Scholarship for three consecutive years, enabling me to pursue my MBA at Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Jhanjeri.
I proudly graduated in 2023. YDF’s support went far beyond financial help — they provided emotional encouragement, mentorship, and constant motivation throughout my journey.
Today, I work as a Management Trainee at Scimplify in Bengaluru, earning my first salary and supporting my family. Seeing the happiness on my parents’ faces makes every struggle worthwhile.
Even more rewarding is knowing that girls in my village now believe higher education is possible. If my journey inspires even one young girl to dream bigger, then every challenge I faced was worth it.
